August Water Quality Sampling

Writer's picture: Friends of PoquessingFriends of Poquessing

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we were limited to a 2-person Bucks County Conservation District - without FoPW volunteers - crew for the return of water quality sampling (spring sampling was cancelled out of the initial COVID-19 caution). Samples were collected on the main stem (Holy Family University campus) and tributaries (near Cornwells Elementary, Bensalem and Pennsylvania Blvd, Feasterville) on August 20 and are currently being analyzed by the Academy of Natural Sciences. Physical measurements of the stream channel and general water chemistry parameters (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and conductivity) were also collected.
